Innovation is playing a critical role in addressing challenges and driving transformative change in the transport sector. Cutting-edge technologies and strategic advancements are reshaping transport systems, creating new opportunities for efficiency and sustainability.
Advancements in smart infrastructure, electrification, autonomous vehicles, and data analytics are at the forefront of this transformation. These innovations not only tackle key industry challenges but also pave the way for a more connected, resilient, and successful transport future. But the latter, heavily depends also on other key factors such as public policy, land use, adequacy of revenues (funding and finance) to provide and maintain infrastructure and workforce among others. These key factors require also profound transformation and innovation. Embracing change and these forward-looking solutions is essential for building a transport system that meets the demands today and of tomorrow.
This session will address the following questions:
- What are the most critical innovations currently driving transformative change in transport, and how can the industry ensure these technologies and solutions are scalable across different regions and contexts?
- How can we ensure that sustainability in all its components remains at the forefront of innovation in transport, particularly as we embrace e-mobility?
- What steps can the transport sector take to overcome barriers to implementing large-scale digitalisation, smart infrastructure and data-driven solutions in both developed and emerging markets?
The 2nd part of the session will be followed by the launch of the IRF International Registry of Road Safety Auditors.
