Roads have always been vital in connecting people, communities and in providing access to opportunities. A transportation system without roads is simply unthinkable. They are at the heart of a transformation that seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate change, transition to more sustainable energy sources, and build overall more inclusive and more resilient societies and economies.
How can roads and transport systems be reimagined to drive a greener, safer, and more inclusive future? What are the forward-thinking policies and actions that can enhance this transition and ensure that roads go beyond simply enabling mobility to actively support communities, improve safety, and contribute to sustainable development goals?
